This and lots more about Singapore at The Jurong Bird
In this post I'd like to talk about where I like to take my friends when they visit Singapore. So far, I've had the pleasure of hosting two or three friends from PEC - this picture was taken with my speshaaal fraand :D
Of course, this post is also a teaser for certain people in my readership who will soon alight on Singapore's shores :)
What you see in the picture is a bay at the mouth of the Singapore river. On the left is the Merlion, a symbol of modern Singapore, which the government thought up because the tourism industry needed to represent "culture"! The building right behind it is the tallest building on the island, and its top floor slants at a small angle downward so that one can truly enjoy the city lights from up there. The spiky round building in the center right is the Esplanade, the equivalent of the Opera House in Sydney. I will take you guys there to buy chocolate marshmallows. The purple thing on its right is an open air theatre by the bay where we will eat our chocolate marshmallows and maybe our dinner too at the Thai Express behind it.
